Vilnius' Naujamiestis district is set to undergo one of the largest transport infrastructure renovation projects in recent years. V. Kudirkos Street will be comprehensively reconstructed, and a rainwater drainage system will be installed in the surrounding streets. Additional street landscaping is also planned. UAB "KRS" will carry out the construction works, valued at 7.34 million euros excluding VAT, with the majority of these works expected to be completed this year.

“We are delighted to contribute to such a significant transport infrastructure project in Vilnius,” says Paulius Grigas, CEO of KRS. “We are committed to executing this complex task responsibly, with high quality, and on time, ensuring the renovated street serves Vilnius residents for many years to come.”

V. Kudirkos Street will undergo a major overhaul of its surfaces and facilities. Dedicated lanes for public transport will be installed, and intersections and other engineering infrastructure will be modernized. Traffic light posts are planned to be replaced at the intersections of V. Kudirkos and J. Basanavičiaus streets, V. Kudirkos and M. K. Čiurlionio streets, and at the pedestrian crossing near M. Valančiaus Street. Additionally, the lighting networks will be partially upgraded.

As part of the project, the rainwater (surface water) drainage networks will be reconstructed from V. Kudirkos St. plot 14 to J. Jasinskio Street. In addition, new rainwater drainage networks will be installed — on V. Kudirkos Street from J. Basanavičiaus to Pamėnkalnio Street and at the intersections within this section, as well as from Švitrigailos Street to V. Kudirkos St. plot 14, and on J. Jasinskio and Pakalnės streets.
